Dr. A. Ronald Peterson
Dr. Peterson is the President and CEO of Peterson Rehabilitation. He is a very accomplished professional with over 40 years of experience as a physical therapist. He is well-known in physical therapy education, having spent 3 years as the PTA Program Director at South University, taking this program through a successful 10-year accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education. He is a Past Principal of the School of Physical Therapy at the University of the West Indies, and ACCE/Clinical Instructor with Louisiana State University Physical Therapy Training Program. He is a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist, Certified in Manual Therapy, Neurologic Developmental Treatment of Adult Hemiplegia (Stroke), and Utilization Review. He received the crowning achievement of his career when, in 2013, he was awarded the Jeffrey Englander Lifetime Achievement Award, endorsed by the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Brain Injury Association of America, and the International Brain Injury Association. This award is given to a person who had a positive impact of national importance on the treatment of brain injuries. Dr. Peterson loves growing orchids, playing music and collecting vintage items.
Carmen is indefatigable as the Chief Financial Officer and Administrator of Peterson Rehabilitation. She is a founding member of the company and is responsible for all the financial affairs and well-being of the facility. She shuffles her time between her many duties and looking after her children and grand-children. She is an accomplished vocalist and loves dancing and going to the movies. She is beloved by all the patients and staff of the facility, and keeps the facility in good financial health and also in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Sophia Mastrangelo, PTA
Sophia is a graduate from South University under the personal supervision of Dr. Ron Peterson, former PTA Program Director. From her High School days, she has been gaining experience at Peterson Rehabilitation in billing and collections, administration and physical therapy interventions. She is currently Clinical Director of the rehabilitation programs at Peterson Rehabilitation. Sophia has a passion for teaching and is frequently requested to supervise students needing observation hours in order to enter the profession. She is currently Center Coordinator for Clinical Education at Peterson Rehabilitation, and supervises physical therapy students from various teaching institutions. She is an ardent artist and musician in her spare time and has great passion for all arts.
This is a loyal and dedicated employee who has been with Peterson Rehabilitation for 14 years as the Front Office Supervisor. Kathleen is the first point of contact with our patients and is therefore in a critical position to make patients feel welcome and comfortable with what could be an unfamiliar environment. She is well-versed in Front Office Procedures and is able to deal with all enquiries and issues from patients. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son as well as following her sons’ baseball activities with ardor and dedication.
Christopher Hamilton, PTA
Christopher is a recent graduate of South University where he was singled out by the former PTA Program Director, Dr. Ron Peterson, to work at Peterson Rehabilitation. Chris has a keen mind and tireless spirit and is forever on the move between his patients. Chris is a very amiable and proficient PTA and enjoys sports and fitness activities. He has a great passion for golf and is found on the golf course whenever he can find the time . He is well liked by both patients and staff.
